Halloween Costume Rules
Halloween Costumes
If approved by campus administration, students may wear costumes to school
on Halloween (October 31) or on the Friday before Halloween if October 31 is
on the weekend.
The following rules apply:
Costumes must conform to the Cotulla ISD Dress Code.
Costumes may not be demeaning to any ethnic group, race, religion,
nationality, disabilities, gender (boys as girls and vice versa), or
individual (staff or student) at the school.
Costumes may not cause a disruption or distraction to the school
program (i.e. no revealing costumes, inappropriate, etc.)
No weapons, toy weapons, or props replicating weapons are to be
brought to school.
No costumes are allowed that would completely hide the identity of the
student (i.e. gorilla suit, "Scream" character) No Masks.
Costumes must not impair a student's vision or movement.
Costumes may not show obscene materials or prohibited substances.
Masks are NOT permitted.
Face painting is allowed.
If you are not sure, ask BEFORE you buy it! Or choose something else.
Inflatable costumes are NOT permitted.
If you or your parent(s) have any questions, please contact the campus
administration regarding those concerns before the designated date for
Halloween costumes to be worn.
Contest Date/Judging:
The costume contest will be held during both A and B Lunch.
There will be three winners in each lunch period.
Prizes will be distributed by the end of the school day.
