A great night celebrating our students! 👏
At last night’s regular School Board meeting, the Cotulla ISD Board of Trustees recognized the Newman Middle School UIL Academic Team for their hard work and success across multiple UIL academic events. 📝
The Board also presented a plaque to our 2025–26 Varsity Cowboy Basketball Team following their season as Bi-District Finalists! 🏀

The National Junior Honor Society proudly hosted its 17th Annual Induction Ceremony, celebrating the outstanding achievements, leadership, and character of our newest members! ✨
We were honored to welcome Aleah Bustamante, BSN, RN, a proud Cotulla alumna, as our guest speaker. A former NJHS and Los Jefes Chapter National Honor Society member, Aleah inspired students by sharing her journey from her time in Cotulla schools to a successful career in nursing. Her message encouraged our inductees to strive to grow, stay dedicated to their goals, serve their communities, and strive for excellence in all they do.
Congratulations to all of our new NJHS members, we are so proud of you and excited to see the impact you will make! 👏

7th Grade Science Lab
7th Grade Science students conducted an owl pellet dissection lab where they uncovered the bones of an owl's prey to trace where the owl fits within a food chain. Students connected real world evidence about how energy flows through an ecosystem and how matter and nutrients are recycled in ecosystems.
